Zoo Day

We took the boys to the zoo with some friends and had such a good time. They love Ben and Jack Simmons, so it was great for them to get to spend the day with them!

SUPER LOGAN

Logan so wants to be a super hero and Superman is his favorite. Imagine his surprise when we went to a friends house and their little girl had a super girl costume. Logan was SO happy! He hurried to get it on before anyone else could claim it, and that's when he found the gloves! OH Baby, what could be better than Super Hero gloves, right? This girl is a year older than Logan and much smaller so it really didn't fit, but he soon realized if he took of his clothes the costume would fit much better. There is nothing like Batman underpants and a Superman costume. He loved that the costume had a shiny bottom. Dave was so proud. I am now in the LONG process of trying to figure out how to make a superman cape for him. He is so cute though, I don't mind his little butt hanging out the bottom of that dress.

End of visitors......sad day

Sam was having an art show at school so we decided to go have lunch with him and check out his art. Everyone had a piece of art displayed, they all looked so good. Of course Sam's art was the best!! He was so proud to show Maymee and Papa Jerr all round his school and his class room. When you walk into the school there is a display case where they have special things and if you zoom in on this picture you can see that this is a picture Sam painted and they put in the front so everyone could see! PROUD MAMA!!

Logan had to show Papa Jerr all around our back yard and the highlight to him is the lawn mower so of course that got a large portion of the tour time.

The day we had to take them to the airport was dress up day for Sam at school. They had a parade through school to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. Sam was so excited.

We had such a great time with my Parents, I love to spend time with them. They are such good example to me and my family. The Boys just love them, they ask every day if its time to go to their house, it's going to be a long couple of months.

Musuem part 2

The end of our Museum trip deserves a post of its own.......as you can see. Poor Logan decided he wanted to dance one more time before we left and as he was running down the ramp got tripped up or forgot to stop; either way he ended up face planting into a pretty sturdy wooden bench. After we got the bleeding to stop mostly we decided we should go and get Dave from the airport. It was a great welcome home present for him. Its hard to see but he is so swollen. While we were trying to clean him up and get him calmed I told him "Logan, would you like an ice cream, that will make you feel better." Later, after I had calmed down I realized that I am a TRUE Marlatt, offering our children ice cream when we should really be taking them to the ER. (right, Marlatts?) We ended up stopping in creepy downtown Memphis at a Walgreen so I could get him so Tylenol and a rag to soak up some blood rather than my Mom's super nice coat.

When Dave got into the car, Logan calmed down quite a bit and was able to enjoy his presents from Japan.

Once the Tylenol kicked in he felt much better and we waited until we got back to Jackson to take him into Urgent Care. He had his story down and wanted to tell everyone that would listen that the bench did it to him. On a side note I'm glad we decided to take him that night because by the next day his story and changed and he couldn't decide if Sam did it or Addie (our neighbor and friend-she is the boys fall back on EVERYTHING). The Doctor said that he was really lucky, nothing was broken and all his teeth were still there so he would look terrible for a while but he was fine.

Bathes always make him feel better.

Day 2After I took this picture I wanted to download it with the caption, "I'm a Dork Fish!"
But I felt bad so I didn't! I love you, Logan!

It kept right on bleeding.

There really didn't look like there was that much bruising just really swollen. Then I looked in his mouth, it went all the way around.

Day 3
You can tell how swollen he is when he smiles.

The bruising starts....

and grows.......

and grows.
Day 4
But he kept smiling!

Target always makes us feel better.
Yes, its the same picture. I can't get it to go away!
Day 5

Day 6

I had to take Sam to the Doctor and I got some funny looks.

The swelling started to go down.

That was an ORDEAL! That was our families first black eye and I think we handled it pretty well. My Dad told me that Logan is fearless and we would probably see many more of this type of injury with him. He doesn't think of the consequences of his actions just the fun of doing them, while Sam is more cautious. Wish me luck in the coming years!

Then Papa Jerr came!!

After My Mom had been here for about 2 weeks, my Dad come out to spend a few days with us. The boys were so surprised and excited. He flew in on Saturday and Dave came in on Monday so we decided to make a day out of it, let Sam skip school and spend the day in Memphis and the Children's Museum. Just driving with the pirates.
School ended up to be optional due to severe weather, and we did see a tornado so I was totally justified in not sending him, see.

Sam and Logan made an experiment. Glue, water and borax. It made slime.
