Sam's Christmas Program

Sam's school program was this morning and it was SO CUTE!! He looked so handsome and sung SO loud. He attends First Presbyterian Playschool, so they get to learn lots about Jesus and the real meaning of Christmas. Santa does come but not until they sing all about Jesus. Sam has been practicing all weekend long. I know there are LOADS of movies but they were SO CUTE I couldn't choose only one. The videos are not in order and are a little blurry but they are great anyway! ENJOY!! Both of the boys were good with Santa this time. Logan even wanted to see him.

This is the prayer they sing before snack time and lunch. I LOVE it, Dave, not so much. I think its so cute and they are helping him remember to pray. What do you think?

Bells Ringing

I'm a Holy Lamb

Jesus was Born in a Manger

Angels Sing. The 2 boys on the left of Sam were really into it! Mrs. Penny had to tell them not to yell several times, it was really funny. They did a wonderful job singing! I'm so sad Sam will go to real school next year and he won't get to have Christmas programs, but it will be Logan's turn.

It's Sammy!

This morning I come out of my room to the smell of something awful (all who have children know the smell). I ask the question I already know the anwser to, What is that smell? This is the conversation that followed.

Logan: "its Ceammy! Blah, Nassy!"

Sam: "I did not Mom, I'm 5! It was Logan!"

Me: "I know it wasn't you Sam, I'm just teasing Logan. Logan go get a diaper and lets change you. You stink."

Logan: "No, It's you mama, Nassy!"

Me: "No sir, I think its you, Logan."

Laughing because he thinks he is SO funny!
Logan: "Nooo, Its Daddy!

He is too funny! Only 2 and trying to blame everyone else for his STANK!

Logan turns 2!!

Logan is 2! Time is going by so fast. STOP already!! I feel like we haven't had any time to enjoy Logan being a baby. He grew up so fast. Logan has been through a lot these last 2 years. You wouldn't look at the pictures and think he had any problems but...he does. At 6 weeks old he started wheezing. We took him to his Doctor who told us he had RSV; she put him on his first round of Steroids and breathing treatments. From there we had to find a Pediatric Pulminolgoist. We drove back and forth to Memphis to see Dr. Stokes who gave us different treatments to use in his Nebulizer. Nothing really helped so we had to take Logan to Lebohner Children's Hospital in Memphis to have a bunch of tests done. We spent 3 different days there getting tests and exploratory surgery done. All of the tests came back normal which is great except we still didn't know what was wrong. When we had exhausted all of our testing options we were told he would be labeled with Asthmatic tendencies. Which I really don't understand, but there it is. So the last 2 years have been filled with steroids, breathing treatments, and frantic late night trips to the ER because he stops breathing. We are told he should grow out of it by the time he turns 6 so here's to hoping. We are so greatful for Logan. We love him and the joy he brings to our home. He is so funny. He talks so much and can get into trouble very quickly, but it is so funny that it's hard to get made at him. He is in a big boy bed now and can get over the gates so my house is free game now. I feel like I'm chasing after them all day trying to maintain some order and cleanliness. Here are a few picture of the last 2 years with Logan. ENJOY!

Dec. 3rd 2007. 11:00AM 9lbs 11ozs, 20 inches long. Logan's delivery was excellent! Due to Sam's birth I had to have a C-section and let me tell you they are the way to go!! We went in at 7am and hung out in a room until about 10:30. They came and got us; we walked to the OR and I got my spinal and they went to town. I was super nervous about the spinal just because I don't like needles and since I was not in pain I didn't want to be stuck. I think Jeff (who gave me the shot) was bugged I kept shaking, but I couldn't stop. I did the same thing when I was in labor with Sam, shaking uncontrollably. I'm not sure why but I was. Two nurses had to hold me still so he could get it in right. Once it was in and started to work I was great. I was nauseous but he tilted the table a bit so it was better. I remember the smell, It was AWFUL!! I kept asking Dave if he could smell it but he was trying not to talk about it. I think he was trying to keep down his breakfast. Dr. Rothrock who delivered Logan was great. Logan's head was so big that she couldn't get him and her hand out at the same time, so she ended up using the vacuum to get him out. It was scary, it really sounded like she was sucking him out with a vacuum. He had a huge bump on his head for almost 2 months. But he wasn't mangled like Sam so I loved it.

5 months old. Some friends have a little one less than a month younger than Logan, They bought here a Bumpo, to help her sit up. Poor Logan's legs are SO fat that he can't even weasel his way in there. We got him this far and then we had to use 2 of us to get him out. This may give him a complex later in life but it is SO funny.

Logan loved this hat. He had to wear it every where we went. Because of his breathing problems we kept him bundled up all the time. Here we are leaving a store. He is so cute and that smile melts your heart. I love that he is SO chubby that you almost can't see his eyes!

1st Birthday. Still not much hair but which makes him look more chubby, but he was in 2T in this picture.

2nd Birthday! He was SO excited to blow out his candles! We did it at least 10 times. Looking at the picture now he is trying to blow them out, but is really just spitting on the computer.

Sam got Logan a hat that matches his for his birthday. He loves hats! He looks So good in them too. He didn't even care about opening any of the other presents he just wanted to hold them. He is SO CUTE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN, WE LOVE YOU!!!

HE IS 5!!!

I am so amazed at how fast time goes by! Sam is 5! Not only that but I have a 5 year old, ME!!! I remember like it was yesterday finding out I was pregnant with Sam. We were so excited! I still fell the pain and after effects of having him! He was a bugger to get into this world but we are so happy he is here! I was in labor of 38 hours after the doctor induced me. Sam was facing the wrong way so they finally had to use forceps to pull him out. He still has scars from where the forceps ripped his poor face up. They doctors didn't realize or know how big he was so I had a 10lb 12oz. baby naturally. The Epidurals (yes there were 3 different one) didn't work so, to put it mildly it was the worst pain EVER!! But he is so awesome; I'd do it again to have him!
November 30, 2004 10:01 pm 10lbs 12ozs 21 inches long. The day Sam was born. Ignore me in the corner, it was a LONG couple of days!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a wash at our house this year! We didn't even make a turkey. Dave was getting ready for his trip to Europe so we decided to just hang out and relax. Well some friends invited us over so we went or there instead. I'm SO glad we did. The food we the BEST!!! I'm not kidding it was so good I wish I could had shoved down more of it. The boys loved playing with there friends and it was nice to visit and just relax. I love thanksgiving!

Halloween

Halloween was super fun this year. We had so many awesome parties and cool things to do. Of course I forgot the camera for all of it so the few pictures I did get aren't the best. They boys looked SO cute in their costumes!! Logan was a Bumble Bee and Sam was a Dinosaur. They both needed coaxing to wear them by time trick-or-treating rolled around. The week before the boys friends had a costume party and they had such a great time. Jeff and Christina went ALL out. It was so cool. The boys had such a great time, I'm sure they would have been happy with only that. On Thursday was Sam's school party. The parents that put it on did a really good job. They made Jack-O-Lanterns and played games. Then On Friday was the ward party and they brought it some one's Wild Life Rescue thing. The animals they brought were so cool. They had a chinchilla, a bear cat, bats, and a HUGE snake! They boys really liked it, but again I didn't take any pictures! I know I'm a bad Mom. On actual Halloween we did the downtown Trick-or-Treat. It was during the day time so we could get the boys to bed at a reasonable time. There wasn't tons of people but it was busy and all the people were giving out candy from their shops so not much of it was questionable. That night we spent with some friends, we made smores and had ice cream cake. It was so good, Dave picked a great one! Logan loves ruff-ruffs. He spotted this dog while we were downtown and was so excited then when he realized that he and the dog were matching he couldn't get enough. Dave got a quick shot but Logan wouldn't look up, he was more interested in the dog. The lady who owned the dog liked Logan too so they took pictures too.

This is at the Simmons's party for the boys. This is the ONLY picture I got of Sam and Logan together and they aren't even wearing their full costumes. But they are so cute.

Sammy

Sam is such a good kid! I love him so much. He is like a man now! He is SO helpful most of the time. He is always wanting to make sure Logan has what he needs. He gets up with Logan an the morning and plays in the room with him until I get Logan out of his crib. Its really cute; He will fill his crib with toys so Logan doesn't cry. What a good big brother! Sam has started his 2nd year of Preschool and First Pres. and he LOVES it. He loves to see his teachers and his friends at school. He is learning so much. He is an awesome drawer! He must take after his dad; he is always got paper and pens, markers whatever he can get. He can write most of his letters very well. He has such a great imagination. He has animal friends that with us when we travel, he is always telling me I need to go faster to keep up with them. He loves to make up words and stories. He always wants to add letters to his name. B mostly. He carries a backpack or bag with him so he can take all his stuff wherever we go, it's great because I never have to pack anything to entertain them. Sam is such a trooper! When we have to rush Logan to the hospital Sam understands the urgency and that 4 year old gets himself up, gets his jacket and heads for the car. We know he is bugged because he cries to himself under his blanket in the car. But he never complains or is mad at Logan or us. He tries to help Logan know he will be fine. He helps us keep Logan happy and entertained while there. Last Friday when we had to take Logan; Sam sat next to Logan and they covered up with a blanket so Logan's Oximeter light would be brighter. He made a Logan feel so cool that he finger had a light on it. He is so helpful. Sam, We love you! It takes a special boy to be able to do what you do for Logan and for us.
Sam and Wormy. They are buddies. Sam painted a bird house for him. I love his hair! He has a MAJOR cowlick in the front there and this is the only way we can do his hair. I think he is so handsome!!

We went to the zoo an few weeks ago and they were all set up for fall. I made Sam pose for a picture. I told him we would sit there all day until he smiled for me! He did! He has such a strong will. I try to mold that will to what I want him to do, but it doesn't always work. He is such a good boy. He is going to make and GREAT husband and father some day.

Logan

Logan is growing up so fast. I love to watch him; he is always doing something funny. He loves to pretend he is a ruff-ruff (dog). He crawls around the house with his tongue hanging out and barking. Some days he is a nice dog the loves to lick everything and other days he is a naughty dog that bites. He bites hard too! He is so smart and loves to read. We find him sitting quietly in the living room surrounded by a pile of books reading to him self. He laughs at the stories and is very animated while looking at them. His favorite book is LLAMA LLAMA RED PAJAMA. He has to read it before bed every night. He hums with the lama and frets with him and helps him jump and shot. Dave reads it a lot with him because I love to watch them read together. I don't take nearly enough pictures of the boys but here are a few.
The boys and I got doughnuts for a snack and Logan wanted to make sure that no one got any of his doughnut. I let him pick the kind he wanted and he picked the biggest one! I had to break it into pieces so he wouldn't shove all of it into his mouth.

We have a play group in our ward and one of the families that comes has a 4 month old, Molly. Logan LOVES her. Not like enjoys seeing her every now and then, but LOVES her. He lays on her blanket and talks to her, brings her toys, makes sure she has her pacifier. He stands at the window and yells for her "MOLL!!! MOLL!!!" I love it. He tries to pick her up and hold her. He just wants to hold her and pet her hair and kiss her. I think they may be soul mates! He loves to sit in her car seat, maybe it smells like her. He just rocks back and forth in it. He is SO funny!

One of Sammy's friend, Caitlin (Molly's Sister) helped Logan put on these shoes. He then came to the living room and twirled around to show us. He was so excited for shoes. He loves ALL shoes because they mean outside. He looks like he is dancing. He is always spinning around and making himself dizzy.

Logan and his Pacifiers!!!! I love that he loves them but he is old enough not to need it any more, but he does not agree! He hordes them! He is always carrying 2 or 3 of them with him. He loves to put more than one in his mouth to mock us. When we tell him to 'hand 'em over' he covers his mouth and runs away. What a stinker!

One night Dave and I were watching TV when Sam starts SCREAMING at Logan. "That's naughty Lotan, you get out! No Lotan, you can't sit there!" We ignored it until Sam came stomping out to inform us that Logan needed a spanking. This is what we found. How can you get mad at this! What a smart little boy. It's a perfect sit, with a head rest and everything. He was coloring on the board with a Color Wonder, which is the only colors he is allowed. Logan is such a special little boy. We are so lucky to be his parents!

Kentucky Horse Park

Dave had training it Georgetown, Ky for a day and since no one was going with him; the boys and I went along. It was a super fast trip but it was SO FUN!! We found this Horse Park pretty close to town, so I took the boys while Dave was in his class. It was cool. The whole place was under construction, so I'm sure it is even cooler but we had a great time.
This is the stroller that we rented it worked great but SO funny looking.
This Shelden pony was super talkative. The boys were so excited that he was as small has them.
Then they got to ride a horse! I may have been more excited that them but they rode. The lady lead them around 3 time in this arena. and they had a good time. Logan started to get worried when his horse started doing his business on the trail. Neither one of them started to slip off or anything. I walked around with them but they did great.

The only way to travel!

What more could a person want while traveling? You can't see the movie he is watching, but he is LOVING it! I hate to dirty all the cups before we even get there so we decided they is no down side to this. Now, we didn't let him drink the whole thing at one time, but he did eventually drink all of it. Milk does a body good right?
